Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) commonly known as Styrofoam TM (trademark of Dow Chemical) is found almost everywhere in our daily lives. It is used for everything from coffee cups to home insulation because of its light weight and high insulation value. EPS often gets a bad rap from environmentalists, but did you know that it is a high value recyclable material?
Recycled EPS is used to make a host of items from DVD cases to park benches. So why does so much EPS still go to the landfill? It is precisely because the material is light and bulky. For example, a whole semi full of the lose material may weigh as little as 3,000 lbs. Let’s be conservative and say it is worth $.25 per pound and that would make the whole load worth $750. Unfortunately, you can’t ship it very far for $750. However, if the EPS is run through a Bright Technologies EPS Densifier before shipment it can be stacked on pallets and load weights can be over 40,000 pounds! To sum it up, a 38,000-pound load @ $.25/pound is worth $9,500.00!!

The Sebright Self-Contained Compactor lineup was created to reduce waste volume and decrease transportation costs through densification of material, also known as compaction. The compactor is physically welded to the container to create one leakproof unit all on the same mobile platform/skid. The most popular capacity systems are of a nominal 30 and 35 cubic-yard designs. Other sizes are available to fit unique job sites and tight space requirements. Depending on the largest size of material being loaded into the compactor, we offer five (5) different charge chamber openings to accommodate the size of the largest item and volume of waste being loaded. Many customers are successful with the Self-Contained Compactor utilizing our low-profile model SC-4260-1-6 featuring a 36” x 60” charge chamber opening, or our model SC-4060-2-4 with its 40″ x 60″ opening.- Grocery stores
