 Weld/Fabricator Job Description – Sebright Products

Job Overview
Performs a variety of fabrication/welding processes used in the production of trash compactors.  Checks and confirms work in accordance with job specifications, procedures, quality standards and checklists.

Job Duties And Responsibilities
Include but are not limited to:

  • Read and interpret bills of materials (BOM) and blueprints
  • Layout and build weldments by hand or with use of fixtures
  • Welds common metals of various shapes, sizes and thicknesses
  • Assemble and weld components per drawing specifications
  • Check dimensions such as height, width, length, holes, cutouts and ports against print
  • Check welds for compliance to DTS standards
  • Safely and properly operate forklift, hydraulic hoist, and/or other lift equipment
  • Observe all company rules and policies, i.e. safety, attendance
  • Maintain high productivity and quality workmanship
  • Suggest design and procedure improvements that improve quality, productivity, and reduce cost
  • Responsible for keeping work area(s) clean and free of clutter during work time and at the end of shift.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Job Requirements

  • Working knowledge of welding materials and equipment
  • Ability to weld
  • Ability to use various testing equipment to verify conformance to specifications
  • Ability to read, write and do simple math
  • Good mechanical ability
  • Ability to accurately read tape measure
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and bills of material
  • Ability to safely and properly use a wide variety of shop tools, including hand and power tools to grind, bevel, fit metals together, and remove slag
  • Ability to safely and properly operate a forklift and/or other lift equipment.
  • Physical and visual acuity at a level to effectively perform duties.  Be able to stand for long periods of time, sit, bend, squat and kneel.  Be able to push or pull at least 50 pounds and be able to safely lift at least 40 pounds.  Be able to reach and work over head.
  • Must have high school diploma with some post high school vocational training or a combination of experience and training sufficient to perform the job duties
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others in a team environment

Industrial Cleaner ~~ Sebright Products

Job Overview

Our industrial cleaner will perform janitorial duties consisting of cleaning and maintaining our industrial facility and grounds. Individuals who enjoy cleaning and organizing make great fits for this role. An industrial cleaner must be efficient and effective in everything they do.

Job Responsibilities

Performs both light and heavy janitorial duties along with basic cleaning tasks that sometimes require the use of specialized machinery and safety equipment. The primary focus is to maintain a clean and safe environment for the day-to-day operations of the facility. Knowing how to safely operate machinery and tools, use and dispose of chemicals, and protect oneself and coworkers are all essential to the position. Additional safety training, such as learning the standards developed by the Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA), is required. The work is labor intensive and requires physical strength.

Installation/Service Technician ~~Sebright Products

Job Overview:

As a leading manufacturer of Waste Handling and Recycling Equipment that serves the customers by installing and/or servicing our systems and products. The position is responsible for constructing, assembling, repairing, and dismantling industrial, municipal, and commercial machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blue prints, and other drawings.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Observe equipment and machinery to verify efficient and safe operation.  Examines and test machinery, equipment, components, and parts for defects to ensure proper functioning. Provides adjustments, connects, or disconnect wiring, piping, tubing, and other parts, using hand and power tools.

Installs or replaces machinery, equipment and new or replacement parts and instruments, using hand or power tools.  Cleans or lubricate machinery, equipment, instruments, tools, work areas, and other objects, using hand tools, power tools, and cleaning equipment. Transfers tools, parts, equipment, and supplies to and from work stations and other areas. Disassembles broken or defective equipment to facilitate repair and reassemble equipment when repairs are complete. Establishes service by studying system requirements; ordering and gathering components and parts; completing installation; performing acceptance tests. Maintains rapport with customers by examining complaints; identifying solutions; suggesting improved methods and techniques; recommending system improvements.

The technician must have knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.

Job Requirements

  • Three years of experience. Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education.
  •  Hands-on experience with demonstrated mechanical aptitude

  • Ability to perform welding applications both steel and aluminum as necessary.
  • Ability to pass a drug & alcohol test if required by the customer for on-site access.

Controls Technician ~~        Sebright Products

Job Overview

This individual will work independently and in a team atmosphere and must be capable of working safely by following policies and procedures of an industrial environment. Demonstrate ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, control panels, and interconnection wiring from drawings. Must understand applicable codes and standards. In addition to electrical skills, good mechanical aptitude is required to understand function of mechanical, electrical and fluid systems.  Possess demonstrated understanding of ladder logic, ability to read and understand pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical schematics. Must have experience with electrical products and knowledge of auto cad electrical.   This individual must have a “Can-do” attitude with ability to multi-task and quickly prioritize in a time sensitive and fast paced work environment as they work with engineering to support production.  Job entails both office and hands on duties.




  • High School diploma/GED
  • Preferred 1-3 years of industrial experience
  • Knowledge and capability to troubleshoot and work on PLC systems and controls, drives, drive motors, pumps and hydraulics
  • Basic knowledge of shop tools and measuring devices.
  • Electrical skills to troubleshooting motors, manual switches, disconnect, fuses, and frequency drives.
  • Skill to read and troubleshooting AC, DC circuit controls.
  • Knowledge and skill in industrial control wiring and troubleshooting.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities to take ownership and willingness to share and mentor others
  • Ability to read and understand prints and schematics (Electrical, Mechanical, Hydraulic, Pneumatic)
  • Proven ability to effectively communicate (written and oral) at all levels within and outside the plant.
  • Must have a high degree of safety conscientiousness.
  • Ability to follow precisely prescribed procedures.
  • Good observation skills and attention to detail.
  • Will be required to work some overtime and travel when necessary.
  • Must have high interpersonal skills and ability to work and interact well with others.
  • Must have basic proficiency in MS Office & AutoCAD electrical
