 Weld/Fabricator Job Description – Sebright Products

Job Overview
Performs a variety of fabrication/welding processes used in the production of trash compactors.  Checks and confirms work in accordance with job specifications, procedures, quality standards and checklists.

Job Duties And Responsibilities
Include but are not limited to:

  • Read and interpret bills of materials (BOM) and blueprints
  • Layout and build weldments by hand or with use of fixtures
  • Welds common metals of various shapes, sizes and thicknesses
  • Assemble and weld components per drawing specifications
  • Check dimensions such as height, width, length, holes, cutouts and ports against print
  • Check welds for compliance to DTS standards
  • Safely and properly operate forklift, hydraulic hoist, and/or other lift equipment
  • Observe all company rules and policies, i.e. safety, attendance
  • Maintain high productivity and quality workmanship
  • Suggest design and procedure improvements that improve quality, productivity, and reduce cost
  • Responsible for keeping work area(s) clean and free of clutter during work time and at the end of shift.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Job Requirements

  • Working knowledge of welding materials and equipment
  • Ability to weld
  • Ability to use various testing equipment to verify conformance to specifications
  • Ability to read, write and do simple math
  • Good mechanical ability
  • Ability to accurately read tape measure
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and bills of material
  • Ability to safely and properly use a wide variety of shop tools, including hand and power tools to grind, bevel, fit metals together, and remove slag
  • Ability to safely and properly operate a forklift and/or other lift equipment.
  • Physical and visual acuity at a level to effectively perform duties.  Be able to stand for long periods of time, sit, bend, squat and kneel.  Be able to push or pull at least 50 pounds and be able to safely lift at least 40 pounds.  Be able to reach and work over head.
  • Must have high school diploma with some post high school vocational training or a combination of experience and training sufficient to perform the job duties
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others in a team environment
  • Ability to follow directions in standard practices and procedures
  • Work Environment
    Skilled manufacturing shop; exposure to moderate amount of dust, dirt and noise; ambient air temperature fluctuates seasonally.


Paint Prep ~~ Sebright Products

Job Overview

Prepare parts and equipment for paint to include cleaning and degreasing, operating glove box type blast equipment, hand sanding and sanding with power sanders/grinders. Protect unpainted surfaces by masking. Utilize chemicals safely to prepare items for paint. Assist in facility upkeep.  The employee is flexible, willing to help out wherever needed, and committed to delivering the highest quality of work possible.

Job Duties and Responsibilites

  • Ensure cleanliness and pleasant atmosphere of work area at all times
  • Prepare work orders with all pertinent information and process work orders to completion. Metal meets pre-paint specifications.
  • Must fully utilize all safety equipment, ensuring proper lifting, bending and carrying techniques are adhered to
  • Understand all machinery and chemicals used
  • Be aware of MSDS sheets and books and read and use this information when necessary
  • Identify maintenance and safety issues and take the correct steps to correct them. Safe operation of all equipment.
  • Must be honest, dependable and forthright, with the ability to confidently work without direct supervision
  • Maintain a positive attitude always be willing to lend a helping hand wherever needed
  • Must be flexible – willing to work a varied schedule
  • Know and comply with all company policies and procedures regarding safety, security, emergencies and energy

Job Requirements

 Industrial Painter ~~ Sebright Products

Job Responsibilities

As a Painter/Sandblaster, you will operate both paint-spraying or abrasive sanding and grinding equipment for a variety of different jobs. Applies preparatory materials/ paints to steel surfaces of equipment in an efficient manner meeting all production schedules.

Job  Duties:

  • Applies protective coats of paint, and/or other related materials to interior and exterior surfaces of equipment.
  • Washes, scrapes, sands, torches, and/or smoothes interior and exterior surfaces prior to painting, lacquering or applying other related materials.
  • Cleans equipment, paint mixing area, and work area.
  • Operates compressors, striping machines, spray equipment, and other small power equipment.
  • Operates heavy lift equipment including scissors, and boom swing stage to heights of 40 feet.
  • Applies paints, surface preparatory materials, and undercoating materials to a variety of surfaces, as appropriate, and according to Materials Safety Data Sheets ensuring compliance with hazardous materials guidelines.
  • Determines appropriate color for new or replacement applications through customer spec requirements.
  • Maintains existing paint surfaces through matching and tinting of appropriate paint products.
  • Identification, safe handling, and appropriate disposal of paints, stains, preparatory and undercoating materials, and other hazardous materials.
  • Follow production schedule and communicate with supervisor on order details, delays or quality issues

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of the tools, equipment, materials, and application techniques common to the painting trade.
  • Skill in the preparation and application of paints, stains, and surface preparation materials to a wide variety of surfaces.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Three years of painting experience.  Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education.   Actual on-the-job painting experience, paint booth application.
  • Hands-on experience with surface prep and paint mixing
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • The ability to work well independently and possess self-motivation to get the job done
  • Trustworthiness and reliability (must be ready to start work at the time shift begins and work diligently under minimal supervision)
  • The ability to be flexible pertaining to operations.

Material Handler ~Sebright Products

Job Responsibilities

As a Material Handler the responsibilities will be to unload, load and deliver materials to different parts of the plant. The main responsibilities will be to unload steel from the trucks and put in designated areas. At times there will be product that will need to be loaded. In addition there will be times that material will need to be brought to different production areas.

Job Duties:

Load and unload incoming and outgoing materials and products

Move materials to and from loading docks, delivery trucks, storage areas, and manufacturing areas

Operate trucks, forklifts, cranes, and other equipment to move freight

Comply with all warehouse safety rules and guidelines

Ability to lift heavy materials with forklift

Operate computers and relevant warehouse management computer software

Handling multiple complex tasks simultaneously

Locate materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials and supplies listed on production orders

Contributes to the orderly operation of stock and/or materials storage area.

The willingness to assist other departments as necessary based on workflows

Follow all safety precautions.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge of  forklifts, tools, equipment

Good organizational and time management skills

Operate and manage general office equipment

Ability to be flexible pertaining to operations.

Data entry skills

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Previous experience operating a forklift
  • Previous warehouse experience
  • Be able to possess a valid Forklift Driver’s License
  • The ability to work well independently and possess self-motivation to get the job done
  • Trustworthiness and reliability (must be ready to start work at the time shift begins and work diligently under minimal supervision)
  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail
  • Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.

Working conditions : Work areas may have exposure to dust and other particles, various weather conditions, various temperatures, load noises, vibrations  Able to work within facilities and outdoors, with exposure to large moving equipment.
